hp5 - death and speculation

ok, so the fifth harry potter book arrived in my mail box promptly on saturday. i couldn't wait to start reading it, BUT i had seen a special on tv with rowling. the following are facts as i know them and my speculations:

FACT. rowling, in interview: "i killed off what i consider to be a major character in this novel... and i cried afterwards"

FACT. harry can't die, there have to be 7 books about him.

ok, i have a bad habit of reading the last few lines of books before i begin them. however, most of the hp books end in the same way... so it's pretty much a given. but just to make sure, i did again... so...

FACT. harry, ron, hermione, aunt petunia, uncle vernon and dudley dont die.

SPECULATION. i knew she wouldn't kill off the three main kids, so this speculation was affirmed by the end of the novel.

SPECULATION. dumbeldor. dumbledor's pretty darn old... it'd be a tragedy if he died. not to mention he's really the only wizard that voldemort's really afraid of anyway - so that'd make some good drama for the following two novels.

SPECULATION. sirius. harry and sirius are starting to get along well, but all things considered, what's the real reason harry can't live with sirius instead of those stupid dursley's? other than the fact of having some drama during harry's summers with him STILL being miserable.

SPECULATION. one of the professors. they get a new defense against the dark arts teacher EVERY year... mcgonnagal has been there the whole time, it'd be sad if something happened to her.

SPECULATION. i dont think it will be any of the students BECAUSE cedric, a student, just died during book 4, i dont know that they'd kill another student... plus i dont think it'd be that sad... lol.

ok, so that's my theory. we'll see how it goes. however, i have to go back and review book 4. after i started book 5 i realized i dont really remember a whole lot about book 4... crazy i know. like i remember the gist of it, but i dont remember details. arg. so i'm now in the process of skimming that monster. i'm also going to look for a condensed version online, LOL... perhaps that would be easier.
