random thought: to solve all life's little dilemma's - sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you dont

so i was searching around diaryland again, clicking on banners and following people's friend links. i found a few cool diaries. i also found a diary of someone who was starting a review site. not for layouts, like the review i recently got, but for content. i feel like i would fail miserably if i got a review for my content, lol. i never say anything interesting. anyway, so i emailed the lady and told her i'd be interested in reviewing diaries. hey, what's another task on my already full plate? she emailed me back, so i'll be doing that sometime soon i suppose. she said she'd add me to the list as soon as she got my bio, so i'm expecting to be added today or tomorrow. then i can read diaries all day like i do now, but with a purpose! lol. so if you want to get your diary reviewed you can go there and sign up. except if you know me in real life, you have to say that in your request, lol, otherwise i might get you and that wouldn't be good! haha. but it's not just for diaryland people, it's for anyone... as long as you have over 20 entries. so yeah, do that! lol.

and i got the pieces that i needed to put my desk drawer together in the mail yesterday. however, when i went to put the drawer together, i realized that the pieces dont line up. the holes are drilled off center on the drawer front and the holes are drilled on the wrong side of the drawer sides! so i still cant put the stupid thing together. so i called to try to get a replacement drawer and the guy said it'd be easier to go to the store and exchange them at the customer service desk. ARG. that means i have to pay for the turnpike again! NOT good. so i'm going to call again later and pretend i never talked to that person and try to get them mailed. lol. but not yet.

so i was thinking last night about all these new design shows on tv. i watch a lot of them... trading spaces, surprise by design, while you were out, designer's challange, design on a dime, and then all the spin offs like trading spaces kids, trading spaces family, lanscaper's challange and the like. there's a new one called queer eye for the straight guy (QESG from here forward). now, this show premiered on bravo. a channel i never watch. but it was advertised all over my other design shows, so i heard about it. apparently it did wonders rating-wise and bravo's excited because now people are watching their channel. however, how does this show fare for all the gay/lesbian/bisexuals out there? i'd like to know. the one commercial ended with a girl saying "are you superheros?" and the guys answering "no mam, we're just gay" which is fine. but i know plenty of gay men who know SHIT about style. just like i know plenty of straight women who know shit about style. i think QESG is putting another unnecessary sterotype out there... that all gay men would be able to give you and your apartment a makeover! damned if i would let this boy i knew, colin, touch my room! or, *gasp* - me! hell no. i think i'd come out looking like i just stepped off the stage of a broadway show like hairspray or mama mia. anyway, this QESG show is something i have yet to see, so perhaps i shouldn't be so judgemental, but i'm sure that i'm not wrong about the sterotype. it's no doubt that the sterotype already existed circa will and grace, but this just amplifies it because the show is all about makeovers!

i'm so glad i'm not gay... i sympathize with those of my friends who are.
