random thought: so many bubbles!!!

cube and i have been going on an annual trip down the shore since my sophomore year of college. we used to do the trip in april, but this year we were both too busy and decided to hold off. well, we figured that memorial day weekend was as good a weekend as any, so we went this past weekend. we booked a hotel in pleasantville, right outside of atlantic city. we stayed in a best western that's for extended stays, so our room was like a mini apartment. it had a full sized fridge, a stove, microwave, dishwasher, cabinets full of plates, cups and mixing bowls and what-not. there was a table with two chairs, a sofa bed, and a coffee table. there was a half wall complete with a swivelling tv that could face the bedroom or the living room. a bed, a desk, a wall safe, a roomy closet. the bathroom had a jacuzzi tub! it was great. we got in the jacuzzi every night with lots of bubbles - sometimes too many bubbles. HAHA. one night cubee put LOTS of bubble bath in the tub and the bubbles just kept on going! it was fun... we filled the whole bathroom with bubbles! haha. anyway, the hotel had this really great restaurant in the parking lot too. shogun i think was the name. it's a japanese/korean place and cube and i had lots of sushi, it was really good. i've had sushi before, but i was never really impressed with it. i would eat it if it was around, but i never had really good sushi, so this was like so good. i think i've found a new favorite food type. hehe.

anyway, we spent a day in AC, a day in ocean city, an afternoon driving around LBI and then we went to toms river to my aunt's house for a memorial day picnic. it was a really fun weekend though. we hit up a few bars on the boardwalk on AC, it was good times. there was one bar that was like a lounge place... it had little beds and couches and everything. and belly dancers. haha. i had a mojito (limes and fresh mint crushed up with sugar and shaken with bacardi limon) - excellent. really nice bar. a little expensive, but a great place to rest and soak up some sun. i forget what hotel it was associated with, but damn it was cool. i'll have to look it up. i just tried really quick, but i couldn't find it. but it was awesome.

but it was a great weekend. lots of fun and travelling to all the beaches and doing lots of drinking and everything else. yay! that was definitely the best yearly celebration yet.
