i'm such a weirdo. i have this job, but it's a temp job... so if i dont watch myself, big brother sends my supervisor a message that says "hey, she's slackin off" - yeah. well, yesterday i was really sleepy. and i really didnt feel like thinking. and this morning my super comes over and says i got flagged (which means i'm not up to par as far as the "check sets" of papers that big bro sends to everyone to make sure they're keeping standards). anyway, when you get flagged you have to requalify to keep scoring on the project. well, i didn't feel like it. i had been thinking of putting in to take friday off anyway. so instead of friday, why not today? i'm being given an opportunity here! haha. so i went with it and purposely failed the requalifier. yay! so i got to leave early and stopped by the office on my way out and they're actually training a new project tomorrow, so it's all good. i got my day off and i'm back to work tomorrow. fate is good at the moment. i feel kinda bad though. i made friends with this girl jill. she just started last monday and is kinda shy until you get to know her, like me. anyway, i haven't really seen her hanging with anyone else, so i felt like i deserted her on the project with hardly anyone to talk to (projects take breaks and lunches together, so you really dont see people on other projects unless your schedules overlap, which they usually dont). anyway, maybe that's selfish of me, but i felt bad for her. i hope that bruce, whom i also left behind - we were the last of the original crew! - will keep her company. i probably shouldnt worry so much about her, she's an adult, she can make new friends. haha. what can i say, i'm vain.

anyway, it was good times having the day off. turned out it was my moms day off too - so we went out to lunch and stopped at hallmark to get a father's day card for jerk and summed up our day with a jaunt to jo-ann's fabric. that store has definitely evolved into a heavy duty craft store. there's still tons of fabric, but also tons of other stuff... like ac moore. i even met up with a very cranky cube by the evening. he was cranky because of the humid weather. i dont blame him. if i hadnt been in the wonderfully air conditioned store, i'd have been cranky as well. BUT - it was a good day off.
